What can I do?
Today I read passage about global warming and How we can do to help reduce air pollution and global warming .There are lots of things that we can do to help reduce air pollution and global warming. Here are a few ideas:
Use buses and trains
We can all help to reduce pollution by using our cars a lot less! It is better for the environment if we use buses or trains whenever we can.

Walk or cycle
Walking or cycling is even better than using the bus as they don't create any pollution at all. And they're good for your health. You could walk or cycle to school with friends.

Turn lights off
Have you ever been told to turn a light off? Well, it makes sense! Not only does it save money, but it means that less energy needs to be produced in our power stations – and that helps to reduce pollution.

Use renewable energy
Using 'renewable' energy is a way of reducing emissions of air pollutants and greenhouse gases. Examples include solar power, wind turbines and hydroelectricity.

What is Summarizing?
Summarizing is the ability to produce a condensed version of information. The
summary includes only important elements and retains the order of the original
information.
Why is Summarizing Important?
Summarizing is important because it benefits both the teacher and student.
For the student
- it provides an opportunity to communicate what is important
- it serves as a way to check understanding
- it provides practice in decision making and sequencing
For the teacher
- it provides evidence of the student’s ability to select important information
- it is an informal indicator of comprehension
- it reveals a student’s ability to prioritize and sequence
Helping Students Develop Their Ability to Summarize
1. Explain that the purpose of summarizing is to restate information in a way that
includes all the important information, is brief, and is in order.
2. Relate summary to text structure. The summary of a story will be different than
the summary of expository material. Expository material may have one of the
following predominant organizational patterns: descriptive, problem/solution,
compare/contrast, sequential, main idea/detail, cause/effect.
3. Identify a short selection for modeling. Choose a selection that is a clear
example of a particular text structure.
4. Have students read the selection with the purpose of focusing on the text
structure (if text structure has been taught) and what was most important.
5. After reading, ask students to identify the text structure. Have them use the
structure to create a summary.
6. To provide support for creating summaries that follow the text structure, use the

Summary Checklists for Different Text Structures.

Welcome to Narathiwas
Introduction
Located approximately some 1,149 km south of Bangkok is Narathiwat the southernmost province in Thailand and one of the nation's five provinces that borders Malaysia at Amphoe Su-ngai Kolok, where the southern railway line ends. Access from Malaysia is convenient via a ninety-minute bus trip and two immigration points where travelers can cross into Thailand and vice versa. With Amphoe Su-ngai Kolok serving as an economic and border tourism center, the province welcomes an increasing numbers of Malaysians and Singaporeans on short holidays or shopping sprees. Narathiwat

In the past, Narathiwat was a southern borderland named "Ban Bang Nara" or "Manalo". It was located near Maenam Bang Nara and the sea. In the reign of King Rama I, this village was under the administration of Sai Buri. Later, it came under the administration of Ra Ngae town of Pattani province.
In 1906, Bang Nara became a big trading city with well-developed sea and land transportation. King Rama V moved the administration office from Ra Ngae to Manalo. In 1915, King Rama VI changed the name of the town to "Narathiwat".

How to help students understand what they read in textbooks

Some of what your students have to read will be prepared by you, and there is detailed advice elsewhere on this teacher's site to help you produce comprehensible worksheets and tests. Much of what the students have to read in your subject, however, will come from textbooks or, more recently, from the Internet. Clearly, you have no control over the content and style of these passages; what you can do however is to decide whether or not to use the text at all with your students, or with your ESL students. Alternatively, you could choose to rewrite the text to make it more accessible. (This is a complex, time-consuming process, and your ESL teacher will be happy to advise or do it for you!)
Assuming you want to use a difficult passage from a textbook as it is, there are various strategies that students can apply to ensure that they have a better chance of understanding. Some of the more common ones are SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) and KWL (What do I know, What do I want to know, What have I learned) or other kinds of graphic organiser. The most important aspects of these various reading strategies are summarised in the following list:
Make sure that students understand why they are reading the text and what they will have to do afterwards. ESL students often believe they need to understand every word of a text, whereas in many cases they can fulfil the task requirements by scanning or skimming through the passage. Having a clear reading purpose helps them to focus more efficiently on the information they need to extract.
Ensure that students have the necessary background information before they are asked to read long texts. It is most important that they have a chance to focus on the topic and activate their existing knowledge of it before being confronted with the text. This often provides the opportunity to pre-teach essential vocabulary contained in the text
Encourage students to read up about the topic beforehand, or discuss it at home with their parents, in their own language
Have students predict the information they will find out in the text
Ask students to write questions that they would like to have answered by the text
Introduce some key vocabulary from the text
Have students predict the vocabulary they will meet in the text
Remind students of the importance of looking at headings, diagrams, and illustrations and their captions
Tell students to note parts of the text that they could make no sense of. (They can later ask you or another student to explain it to them.)
One more piece of advice: Many textbooks are organised around a unifying principle so that each chapter follows the same pattern. It is helpful to make sure that students know their way around the book, particularly if it contains a glossary.
Much of the above advice is standard practice because it is good for all students, not just ESL students. However, in mainstream classes, as in ESL classes, the emphasis should be on training students to apply these reading strategies independently where possible. It does not help in the long run if they expect to be "walked through" every difficult text they encounter. [See my advice to students on how to become a more effective reader.]
Understanding what they read is only one of the difficulties faced by ESL students in school. Another major problem for them is making sense of what they hear. Go to advice on how to help students understand what you say.

Pre-work using our online Learning Academy
A one- or two-day training course
Face-to-face or telephone coaching
A cross-functional project with other delegates to demonstrate and practise new skills
We are experienced leaders, trainers and coaches and have developed this integrated learning approach because we are committed to helping individuals and organisations like yours to get better and more measurable results from the training and development you offer your managers and staff.
An integrated learning approach gets the best results because:
The individual engages with the learning as it is tailored to help them do their job better
Learning is sustained and repeated in different formats over a period of time, and is not limited to a ‘one hit wonder’ in the classroom
Learning is transferred to the workplace and applied in a timely and planned manner

Classroom Management and Discipline in the ESL Classroom

Reference :  http://suite101.com/article/classroom-management-and-discipline-in-the-esl-classroom-a235894
Today I read article about Classroom Management and Discipline in the ESL Classroom. The best way to deal with discipline issues in the EFL classroom is to have a good lesson that is active and encourages the participation of every student in the room. An active student is not usually a problem student. In this article have some common problems to be found in an ESL class and ways to solve them.
When Students Keep Using their Native Language teachers must emphasize that regular use of a student's language means that learning English will be slower and that they are missing out on valuable opportunities to use English in authentic situations. They can encourage students to use English orally by explaining that all other activities can be in their language at certain times but that oral activities must always be in English.
If the student is shy, is being dominated or intimidated by other students teacher must using pair work helps to get quiet students talking as they are under less pressure in small groups. Teachers can also allow them to write down what they are going to say before they say it so that the risk element a spontaneous response requires is removed.

Students do not feel like working. They may find the topic uninteresting. Teacher should a juicy, well-pitched theme chosen according to students' interests or experience will motivate them automatically. The age and culture of students needs to be taken into account when choosing a theme.
The activities, students can be given a non-production role or acting as a teacher's assistant instead of participating in the exercise.
Teachers need to be fair and friendly at the same time to control of a class.

Learning log inside classroom  week 3

17/06/2556

Today, this is my third in curriculum and learning management in English. I have learned about teaching method that my friends presented. They presented about Task based learning, Project based lerning, listening, speaking, writing, and reading teaching.

First, Task Based Learning means learning to focuses on workload or learning that the students have learned from practice workload. And use this knowledge to perform the tasks assigned to accomplish. The teacher must have the feedback of the work. That is inductive learning.
Secound,Project Based Learning is learning to use the issue as an incentive to the students the need to pursue knowledge to solve problems. Emphases on the students decide what they want in pursuit of knowledge. And know how to
Third,Listening teacning,  Listening skills are vital for learners. Listening is the most skill frequently used. Learners need practice the skills and ability to listen and understand the message has been listening. Teachers should have the knowledge and techniques teaching listening skills. There are three steps for the listening process 1. Pre-listening <give information> 2. While-listening <practice>3. Post-listening <write a summary>
Fourth, Speaking teaching, speaking skills in English. Focus on Accuracy, Vocabulary, Grammar, Patterns. So, activities with the learners to practice speaking skills. They focus on the activities that the students need to practice, or by the sentence structure speaking majority.
Fifth, Reading teaching they presented about Reading skills in English is a skill that can be trained to the learner and abilities better. Teachers should have the knowledge and techniques for teaching reading skills to students.
Last,Writing teacning, Writing is a communication to others to know by text. Writing skills need to start by creating a system of writing from Controlled Writing to Less Controlled Writing and to  Free Writing. Teachers should have the knowledge and techniques teaching Writing skills.Writing skill focus on Fluency, Accuracy, Vocabulary, Grammar, Pattern Content.

In conclusion, today I have learned teaching method. Presentations of my friends have changed from last week. All presentation is well. After my friend presented I understand and know the meaning. It does can improve me about skills. That we can apply in writing lesson plans.
